Looks like it, except it allows you to use GPUs for graphics (like Open GL), and non-graphics stuff.

I wondered if "Open CL" was a typo. No such luck. Yet another thing I know nothing about.

CPU magazine has been hinting about this for some time...
I like the sound of my Operating system running faster because it will allow even more room for games and programs.
I'm sure laptops are going to really take advantage of this so games & programs will start to compete with desktop performance.
