The Inquirer reported Saturday that AMD appears to be having trouble getting the new 65 nM chips to hit even low speeds at 'stock' voltage.  For 65 nM, this means 1.4v instead of the 1.1v they were apparently aiming for.  The good news is that they are still 4 months or so out from official production, but since it generally takes about 3 months to get production geared up, it means that they've got until late September or so to get things ironed out if they intend to be able to produce chips in quantity when they are officially released, rather than have a paper launch.
