The Beatles company Apple Corp. and Steve Jobs's Apple Inc. have, it would seem, finally laid to rest their disputes of the use of the fruity word "apple".

They two have clashed on occasions in the past, with things coming to a head when Apple Inc. started selling music online via iTunes.  Apple Inc., the Mac people, won the right to continue with their activities in the entertainment industry in a court case last year.  The judge decided that selling music doesn't conflict with creating it.

Thus far, The Beatles don't sell their music online.  It looks like we can expect that to change, and perhaps their tracks may be available on iTunes in the future.

Apple Corps manager Neil Aspinall added: "It is great to put this dispute behind us and move on. The years ahead are going to be very exciting times for us.

"We wish Apple Inc every success and look forward to many years of peaceful co-operation with them."
