The Register is reporting that ebuyer.com, in the UK, has messed-up with warranties on a batch of Seagate hard-drives.  Customers were sold drives on the understanding that they came with a five year warranty.  In fact, the drives are OEM, and only have a one year warranty.

There is an ongoing discussion of this issue on Ebuyer's own forum.

Seagate thinks that they may have mixed-up a batch of OEM drives, with retail drives.  More here.
