Security firm Sophos has detected a phishing scheme that bounces people off an IRS web site.  It seems that the IRS web site has a security vulnerability that some unscrupulous people outside the government are using to redirect you to their web site, where they proceed to harvest your credit card details and relieve you of your cash.

The Register reports that Diebold has decided it would rather lose the state of North Carolina as a customer of its electronic voting machines than open the source code to inspection by state officials.  Hmmm...........wonder why?

Finally, Anandtech benches Intel's Yonah core and gives us the scoop on how it performs.  The verdict?  It performs very well indeed.
