Intel is scheduled to release the Pentium 955 EE on December 27th according to The Inquirer.  It is spec'd at 2MiB L2 cache per core, and 3.46 GHz core clock, with a 1.066 GHz FSB, using two Pressler cores on Intel's 65nM process.

AMD is all set to release the Athlon64-FX60 on January 10th, and Intel is going to be releasing Yonah about January 1st as well, so things ought to be rather interesting in the first quarter of next year.

It appears that nVidia is going to be releasing their 6800GS AGP card next week also, just in time to garner a few last minute holiday buys.  Maybe ATI is putting a little pressure on nVidia to release some AGP solutions?

Finally, researchers at the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) have managed to create an 8-bit quantum byte as the next step in creating a fully functioning quantum computer.
