Sony BMG are in trouble with the Texas attorney general over their use of XCP and MediaMax software, now more commonly known as spyware.

Sony say that they have now withdrawn the offending audio CD's. However, the word on the street is that there are still plenty of these CD's in stores. So, be careful with any new CD's you play on your PC this Christmas, you might get more than you bargained for!

If you have a Sony BMG CD which has this copy-protection software on it, you can always take it back to the shop. This problem doesn't arise just in Texas, expect to find these CD's anywhere.
