CDFreaks and Geek.com both have published an interesting article about a new DRM package from Starforce that will reboot your PC if it see something it doesn't like. The source of this information is being attributed to Futuremark. According to Nicklas Renqvist at Futuremark, they are wrong. I have not been able to discover the source of the 'This latest identified threat by
Futuremark is one that relates to a driver being installed on your
computer that gains RING0 access' statement, but I can say that I haven't been able to find it on Futuremark's web site or in their forum. There has, however, been considerable discussion about Starforce in this thread in Futuremark's forum. So, how about it? Any problems with Starforce DRM? Is this a tempest in a teapot, or is there a real issue here? Tell us in the forums!
