Mozilla's Firefox browser is renouned for its vast library of add-ons, this is obviously a strong point which Mozilla is keen to keep ahead with, especially given that Google's Chrome browser now supports add-ons.
So, Mozilla Labs has recently anounced their latest project, Jetpack, with a view "to explore new ways to extend & personalize the Web.". They're claiming that developers have "only scratched the surface of its potential."
For browser users, the new Jetpack will allow you to install a new add-on without having to shut-down and restart the browser. Perhaps, encouraging people to try out more add-ons than they might do without this feature.
An initial release of Jetpack is available now, see the "more" link for all the details. Be aware that this version of Jetpack is not secure, and is intended for testing purposes only.
