Sandisk is shipping 'reasonably priced' G3 solid state disks

FLASH STORAGE manufacturer Sandisk has begun shipping its G3 solid state drives (SSDs) to retailers.

Sandisk claimed that the G3 SSD will be a "compelling alternative" to 7200RPM hard drives, especially for IT managers seeking increased durability and performance with high reliability. No mention though of compelling price points to bring solid state in line with how many Megabytes you get per buck in traditional hard drive storage.
