Today, Google announced their new own-brand tablet the Nexus 7.
The Nexus 7 will run the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system, features a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and 1GB of system memory.

The device is set to sell for $199 for the 8GB version, and $249 for the version which has 16GB of built-in storage. Expect to be able to buy one from mid-July this year.
The tablet hardware will be manufactured by Asus.
Other specifications include a 7-inch 1,280 x 800 touch-screen display, meaning that 720p HD video can be watched with pixels to spare. The graphics system is driven by an Nvidia 12-core GPU.
The Nexus 7 appears to be intended to compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire and other low-priced 7-inch tablets.
