ASUS HAS TOLD The INQUIRER that the world's first USB 3.0 based motherboard, its P6X58, has been cancelled with no real explanation as to why.

A few months ago, I heard from a forum member asking whether we've seen or heard of a microATX motherboard from DFI that has dual PCIe slots for graphic cards, and therefore allowing the support for Crossfire mode. When I asked our forum member why he wanted such a motherboard, his answer was simple ... to build a portable mini PC that's small enough to be carried around to Lan Parties, and has enough power to play all the latest graphic intensive games. I must admit , it was the first time I heard of such a motherboard, and we found it a struggle to find such a product.

VIA quits motherboard chipset business

AFTER WIDESPREAD rumours of Nvidia quitting the chipset business imminently, Via has announced it will also exit the once competitive motherboard chipset market.

Speaking to Custom PC, VIA vice president of corporate marketing in Taiwan, Richard Brown, outlined the reasoning behind the company's exit.
