Zune won't play MS DRM infected files

You can't write comedy any better than this; you just really can't.

The Inquirer is reporting that Microsoft's new Zune player won't support the current DRM protected Windows Media formats.  Looking at the fine print on the features list, that would certainly seem to be the case.  Microsoft's solution?

"Lots of DVD ripping software out there that encodes to those formats, so the most popular formats out there, whether it's MPEG-4 or H.264, we'll support those."

Eh, come again?  Microsoft has been at the forefront of pushing technology to ensure that we can't use our music the way we want, but now they're telling us to use the very tools they are trying to make it more and more difficult for us to use?  Hmm........
