SanDisk launches 32GB solid state drive

SanDisk has announced the launch of a 1.8 inch solid state drive, which has a 32 giga-byte storage capacity. It has a read transfer rate of 62 MB per second.

They claim that a laptop PC fitted with this drive would be able to boot Windows Vista in just 35 seconds.

Amos Marom, vice president and general manager of the embedded division at SanDisk, is scheduled to deliver a presentation at Storage Visions 2007 on Jan. 7 at 11:45 a.m. at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.

The drive is available now to original equipment manufacturers.
