Prize given to plastic electronics process

A team of developers from Imperial College London have been awarded for their work on production processes for plastic electronics.

The prize was given for the group's innovation in the field of nanotechnology, as they presented plans on developing plastic electronics for commercial use, which could help to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly yet affordable energy sources.

"It's increasingly important for scientists not only to develop sustainable energy sources and energy-efficient products but also to find ways of making sure these innovations can be delivered to the mass market in a timely and cost-effective way," remarked Professor Donal Bradley, who lead the team's research.
