Nitro 1TB SSD drive at CES

PureSilicon have unveiled a new highly compact solid-state drive with a 1TB storage capacity.  This Nitro branded range of SSDs includes models with the following storage capcities, 2GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.

The physical size of the drive is just 100.2mm x 69.85mm x 9.5mm.  This means the 1TB version packs in 15.4GB per cm2.  This means it is by far the most compact SSD to-date.

Sustained read speed is rated at 240MBps, with sustained write speeds at 215MBps, according to pureSilicon.

The Nitro SSDs are due to be available in Q3 2009, with no prices available as yet.
