It's been the Holy Grail of computer for almost as long as we've had computers: making a computer 'think' the way a human being does.  It's the stuff of science fiction; from Robbie the Robot to HAL.  This week, a group of neuroscientists and bioengineers gathered at IBM's Almaden Research Center to talk congitive computing research, where it is at, where it is going, and why it is starting to be successful.

Do you have any experience with Artificial Intelligence (speech or image recognition, cognitive processes, learning algorithms)?  Maybe you've done some research yourself?  Tell us what you think, in the forums!
