Fuel Cells in Laptops Next Year?

Fuel cell technology is getting closer and closer to reality.  The BBC is reporting today that Toshiba intends to have a fuel cell ready for commercialization by next year, and other companies are hot on the trail as well.  Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Samsung and Sanyo have all shown prototypes, fueling speculation that they are all getting close to commercialization as well.

So, how well is this going to work?  Current prototypes are about the same size as the laptops they power, and weigh about two pounds.  However, they provide in the neighborhood of 10 hours of run time per charge, and can be recharged by simply putting some more methanol in them.  Does this make them worth-while?  Or will they need to get smaller and lighter before they become practical?  How much run-time do they have to have before they become appealing?
